LIMONA and the Environment

LIMONA is committed to minimizing impacts on the environment that may result from any of its projects. Where feasible, we strive to implement measures to protect, restore, enhance or create environmental features of value to native plants and wildlife. We are particularly aware of protecting sensitive habitats and ecosystems, such as wetlands and fish-bearing waters.

The LIMONA GROUP was the first Builder in BC to embrace the Built Green BC programs. We have incorporated the latest energy saving technologies in over 150 homes since 2005 which have been independently rated under the Energuide efficiency standard. LIMONA was recognized as the Built Green BC Builder of the Year in 2006 and 2008, as selected by the Canadian Home Builder’s Association.

Each project involves developing a cooperative, close working relationship with regulator agencies, planning carefully and retaining the services of respected professional Biologists, Engineers, Arborists and others. All our undertakings are directed to meeting our goal of demonstrating how people can live in harmony with our natural environment. Our innovative and environmentally sensitive approach to our developments has drawn recognition and accolades from our customers and environmental agencies. In recent years, we have completed many of the larger single-family housing neighbourhoods and waterfront developments on Vancouver Island, becoming one of the Island’s pre-eminent developers. Continuing recognition by the Canadian Homebuilder’s Association has resulted in us winning numerous Gold and Silver C.A.R.E. awards.
